Sequenced Packet Protocol. Provides reliable, connection-based, flow-controlled packet transmission on behalf of client processes. Part of the XNS protocol suite.
Southwest Power Pool. One of the ten regional reliability councils that make up the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC).
Southwest Power Pool. One of nine Regional Reliability Council members of NERC. The SPP member systems serve customers in all or part of eight states in the Great American Southwest. They are Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mssissippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Small Power Producer. Under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA), a small power producer (or small power production facility) generates electricity using waste, renewable (water, wind and solar) or geothermal energy as a primary energy source. Fossil fuels can be used, but renewable resource must provide at least 75 percent of the total energy input. (See Code of Federal Regulations, Title 18, Part 292.)
Small Power Producer. According to PURPA a facility limited to a capacity of 80 MW and generating electricity using renewable energy as a primary source. In 1990 the capacity limit was removed for certain specific energy sources, but it was reinstated in 1995 when Congress did not act to continue the removal.

Spares/Service Parts Planning. Planning that supports the optimal stock quantities and location of items used to service internal assets or customer equipment.
Scottish Planning Policy. New planning guidelines issued by the Scottish Executive to replace NPPGs. SSPs provide statements of policy on nationally important land use and other planning matters, supported where appropriate by a locational framework. To date only SPP1 (The Planning System) and SSP2 (Economic Development) have been produced. Existing NPPGs will continue to be used until replaced by new SPPs
