Definitions for "House List"
an organization's exclusively-owned list generated from its internal records, and which contains names, addresses, and other information on individuals considered important to the advertiser, such as present customers, past customers, or good prospects; usually for direct marketing purposes. See internal list and external list.
A list of names compiled by an organization's own staff and sourced from its own records, such as inquiries, customers, competition entrants etc.
An email list which has been built and is owned by the email marketer (as opposed to a rented list, which is built and owned by the list rental company). A house list is typically extremely valuable due to the fact that the recipients have already been well qualified by virtue of them granting permission for the marketer to mail to them.
