Definitions for "C-FACTOR"
The empirical ratio between the contour interval and photo scale. To calculate C-Factor divide the photo scale by the contour interval. Allowable systematic (not instrument) C-Factor is generally around 2100.
Time rate of steady-state heat flow through the unit area of a material or construction surfaces. Units of C-Factor are Btu/h x ft2 x degrees Fahrenheit. Note that the C-factor does not include soil or air films.
(also called Contouring Factor)  The ratio of the flight height to the smallest contour interval which a photogrammetric system can consistently compile on a map manuscript to the required accuracy.
