The result is a range of quality wines that varies from bone dry to unctuously sweet.

This is also often the rising order of sweetness, but wines form Kabinett to Auslese level can be made dry (trocken) or medium-dry (halbtrocken). BA and TBA wines are always very sweet. Eiswein is a very sweet wine made by picking and pressing frozen grapes.
