Network Addressable Unit. Either a program or a group of programs that represents the source and destination of data in a network. The three kinds of network addressable units are SSCP, LU, and PU.

See also network name, network address. Each NAU has a network address that represents it to the path control network. (LUs may have multiple addresses for parallel LU-LU sessions.) The path control network and the NAUs together constitute the SNA network.
