Brakes using a drum attached to the wheel. Brake shoes are forced against the rotation drum to retard the vehicle.
Brake systems, usually mounted on back wheels, that force curved brake shoes against the inner walls of a hollow metal drum attached to each wheel.
A braking system where a metal drum is attached to the wheel, and the rotation of this, and so the wheel, is slowed and halted by curved devices called brake shoes being pressed hard against the brake lining which causes friction on the inside of the drum.
Consists of brake shoes that are mounted to a backing plate that bolts to the rear end housing, or in the case of older model cars may be present on the front axles also. The shoes are housed in a round drum that rotate along with the wheel.
