Category 6 is a proposed standard that aims to support transmission at frequencies up to 250 MHz over 100 ohm twisted pair.
Cabling standard specified by EIA/TIA 568-B.2-1, offering performance parameters that are vastly improved over the TIA/EIA category 5e standard for use with speeds upto 1Gbit/s.
This standard is currently in draft. The proposed transmission characteristics will be around 250MHZ
Like Cat-5, but supports data rates up to 1 gigabit per second (Gigabit Ethernet).
