Cabling: is a structured data cabling system based on twisted copper pairs with a bandwidth of up to 1000mb/s. New cabling is usually of this standard.
A copper wire cable standard that contains four twisted copper wire pairs, like earlier versions such as Cat 3, 4, and 5. It allows connection speeds of 400MHz.
Category 5 enhanced cable An eight-conductor unshielded twisted-pair cable with a plastic rib in the center of the cable to separate the pairs. It is used primarily for networking and computer connections. It is rated at 100 MHz and supports up to 100 Mbps. Replaces Cat 5 cable. The maximum recommended cable run is 100 meters (328 feet).
