A form on a Web site that enables visitors to communicate with the host by filling in the fields and submitting the information. Information recieved via a form can be received as public e-mail or processed through another kind of software, such as a correspondence management system. However it is received, e-mail sent via a Web form is formatted consistently, which can help ensure that certain information (name, address, e-mail address, etc.) is included. Formatted e-mail also makes it easier for other software programs to process the information. For these reasons, many congressional offices include Web forms on their Web sites to make processing incoming e-mail much more efficient.
