Large vessel for capturing overflow water in competition pools equipped with a gutter recirculation system.
An overflow tank with cap, connected to an engines cooling system. Surge tank holds extra or reserve coolant to assure that the engines cooling system is completely filled at all times. A surge tank may or may not have a constant flow of coolant through it depending on design. Liquid coolant additives should be added only to those surge tanks that have a continous through-put to assure proper mixing with mainstream coolant. Top-off with a 50/50 prediluted coolant via the surge tank is acceptable.
A tank that accumulates water in response to a pressure surge and supplies water in instances of moderate negative gauge pressure, thereby preventing damage to pumping and piping equipment.
A tank designed to accept a volume of air, gas on the compression stroke of a cylinder and to provide an extra volume of air, gas, or oil on the power stroke of the cylinder. Also prevents excess pressure buildup in a cylinder and/or lines.
Engine cooling system auxiliary supply or expansion tank; may be integral with the radiator top tank or a separate tank; allows for expansion of coolant, thus prevents loss through overflow tube during surging in system.
A small fuel tank that is designed to maintain a constant fuel supply to the main fuel pump during hard cornering.
