There are numerous types of valves associated with piping. For the purposes of this inspection form, a shutoff valve is any valve, such as a faucet handle or lever, that an operator anually turns to stop product flow from the valve to the end of the piping run/dispenser.
A valve that shuts off a liquid or gas flow.
A valve that cuts off water to one or more fixtures, allowing repairs without shutting off the supply system for the entire house.
A stop valve on a water supply tube that cuts off the flow of water when turned. Allows water to be turned off locally without shutting off supply to entire house.
A valve, usually a ball valve or gate valve, used to shut off the supply to a sprinkler system. The shut-off valve is located near the connection to the main water supply. Back to glossary index.
