Solar Heat Gain Coefficient. An indicator of the amount of solar radiation admitted through and absorbed by a window and subsequently released as heat indoors. SHGC is expresses as a number between 0 and 1- the higher the number, the more solar heat the window transmits.
solar heat gain coefficient. The portion of solar energy entering a building through a glazing. The lower the number, the better the window prevents heat gain.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient. The ratio of solar heat gain through a glazing system compared to that of an unobstructed opening.
