The minimum amount of current which must be drawn from an output to maintain output regulation.
Some switching power supplies require a minimum load to stay within their specifications. However, operating them unloaded does no damage.
The minimum load current/power that must be drawn from the power supply in order for the supply to meet its performance specifications. Less frequently, a minimum load is required to prevent the power from failing.
