Energiakäyttö, jätteiden energiakäyttö (talteenotto) Energiåtervinning A form of resource recovery in which the organic fraction of waste is converted to some form of usable energy. Recovery may be achieved through the combustion of processed or raw refuse to produce steam through the pyrolysis of refuse to produce oil or gas; and through the anaerobic digestion of organic wastes to produce methane gas.
Obtaining usable energy by consuming waste through a variety of processes.
To capture energy from waste through any of a variety of processes (e.g. burning). Many new technology incinerators are waste to energy recovery units.
the creation of energy by burning solid waste materials.
The extraction of the fuel or heat value from whole or processed tires through incineration.
Incineration of solid waste to produce useful energy.
A process of attaining energy from waste.
The recovery of useful energy in the form of heat and/or power from burning waste. Generally applied to incineration, but can also include the combustion of landfill gas and gas produced during anaerobic digestion.
The combustion or burning of a waste stream to produce heat.
Obtaining energy from waste through a variety of processes (e.g. combustion). Since 1981, Herman Miller's Energy Center has burned waste to generate both electrical and steam power to run the million-square-foot Main Site manufacturing facility.
Energy utilized which would otherwise be wasted
the process of extracting useful energy from waste, typically from the heat produced by incineration or via methane gas from landfills.
