Definitions for "Deferred Delivery"
New shares which are already listed but for which records the title are still being processed. The shares are still traded normally, however a later settlement occurs.
The distant delivery months in which futures trading is taking place, as distinguished from the nearby futures delivery month.
Shares quoted "dd" are usually the result of a reconstruction of the company's share capital where shareholders have new shares, but the records of ownership have not yet been issued. Shareholders who wish to sell must do so on a "dd" basis so that buyers know that they cannot expect delivery of the scrip immediately.
