(Defense Data Network) The MILNET and associated parts of the Internet that connect military installations. Used loosely, it refers to the MILNET, ARPANET, and the TCP/IP protocols they use.
Defense Data Network. A global communications network serving the US Department of Defense composed of MILNET, other portions of the Internet, and classified networks which are not part of the Internet. The DDN is used to connect military installations and is managed by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
Used generally to refer to Milnet, Arpanet and the TCP/IP protocols those networks use. More specifically refers to Milnet and associated parts of the connected Internet that connect military installations.
Defense Data Network. Refers to military networks such as MILNET, ARPANET, and the communications protocols (including TCP/IP) that they employ.
