Definitions for "Watchtowers"
A concept derived from ceremonial magick; the four watchtowers each represent a cardinal direction, element, elemental, and a color. They are commonly used in modern Wicca.
Also sometimes called the Directions or the Quarters. The four cardinal points which are each associated with an Element (typically East=Air, South=Fire, West=Water, North=Earth) which are sometimes ritually invoked as guardians of the Circle.
The protective forces at each cardinal point surrounding the magic circle connected to the four natural elements, can be referred to as mythological creatures, angels, gods, etc.
