VFS is a Virtual FileSystem written in PHP. It is aimed at communities that need to share files between different users distributed at different offices, buildings, etc. Typically, email is not suitable for sharing files because many are more than 8Mb, and FTP doesn't give enough flexibility on the user permissions.

VEGETATIVE FILTER STRIP. A type of BMP which EPA defines as a "permanent, maintained strip of planted or indigenous vegetation located between nonpoint sources of pollution and receiving water bodies for the purpose of removing or mitigating the effects of nonpoint source pollutants such as nutrients, pesticides, sediments, and suspended solids". A VFS, which both decreases velocity and removes pollutants from the stormwater, is designed to receive overland flow from an upland development. Also referred to as a Vegetative Buffer Area. VEGETATIVE SWALE: A natural depression or wide, shallow vegetated ditch used to temporarily store, route, or filter runoff.
