Definitions for "Unsatisfied judgment fund"
In some states a person who is injured in an automobile accident and who cannot collect from the person responsible, may collect from a special fund (UJF).
Also known as UJF, many states have laws, which provide for reimbursement to a person injured in a car accident who has not been able to collect from the responsible party.
A state fund created to reimburse persons injured in automobile accidents who cannot collect damages awarded to them because the responsible party is either insolvent or uninsured. Such funds are often financed by an addition to the regular automobile registration fee and will only pay unsatisfied judgments up to fixed limits.
