Definitions for "Solderability"
Keywords:  wettability, molten, wet, pad, trace
Wettability of surface of conductor in molten solder
This is the ability of solder to wet a component quickly. It is influenced by thermal demand of the components, wettability and resistance to soldering heat of the components.
The ability of a metal surface. such as a lead, pad or trace. to be wetted by molten solder to form a strong bond.
Solderability defines whether a solder can perform as intended in-service under normal fabrication methods or processes. The electronic industry has a consensus specification which provides guidelines for classifying, testing, marking, and packaging accepted solder compositions.
Measure of the ease with which a material may be soldered with a particular combination of solder and flux.
