The relative flatness of the tape backing.
Texture of the surface of paper. Also called its finish. Generally determined with a tester that measures time required for a given volume of air to flow between the surfaces of the paper sample and a piece of optically flat glass under standard loading conditions.
A precise measurement of the surface texture of a sheet of paper. Smoothness plays an important role in how well a given paper will print on a given technology. A very smooth sheet may be too slippery for a system to move reliably. Too rough a sheet may affect image quality.
