Samson was the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1981, performed in Dutch by Emly Starr. The song was performed sixteenth on the night (following Portugal's Carlos Paião with Play-Back and preceding Greece's Yiannis Dimitras with Fegari Kalokerino). At the close of voting, it had received 40 points, placing 13th in a field of 20.
Samson was a heavy metal band formed in 1977 by guitarist and vocalist Paul Samson. They are best known for their first three albums with future Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson, then known as "Bruce Bruce", and drummer Thunderstick (real name Barry Graham), who wore a leather mask and performed on stage in a metal cage. Drummer Clive Burr was also member of the band, both before and after his time with Iron Maiden.
Samson was a fictional superhero that appeared in comic books published by Fox Feature Syndicate. He first appeared in Fantastic Comics #1 (December, 1939).
