Designating, or of the nature of, a kind of pottery made by Bernard Palissy, in France, in the 16th centry.

Palissy is the brand name under which the English firm The Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent of A.E. Jones and Sons marketed their china and pottery. The name was chosen as a tribute to the famous French potter of the C16, creator of Palissy ware.
