Minimum Point of Entry. This is a fancy term for your phone box, more than likely if you live in an apartment building or are getting installed in an office building.

Minimum Point of Entry - The closest practical point to where the carrier facilities cross the property line or where the carrier cabling enters the building. The MPOE is the physical demarcation point (DEMARC), and typically is in the basement, although this is not always the case. The MPOE establishes the point at which the carrier's responsibility ends and the end user or building owner's responsibility begins.
