Definitions for "Management Area"
An area of national forest system land identified in the Forest Plan as having distinct management objectives. Activities in each management area are governed by specific standards and guidelines set forth in the Forest Plan. Examples include the lands surrounding Lake Ouachita, road and trail corridors, riparian areas, and suitable timberlands.
The area outside of zone one and within a two-mile radius where the Optional Two-mile Radius Delineation Procedure has been used to identify a protection area.
stands or forest types that require similar management practices and can be grouped for treatment as a management unit.
