A cuirass, originally of leather, afterward of plates of metal or horn sewed on linen or the like.
Segmentata' Not a real Latin phrase but one made up, probably in the Renaissance period. It is used to describe segmental plate body armour, articulated on internal leather straps. The original name is, of course, unknown.
