Definitions for "Keel"
A longitudinal timber, or series of timbers scarfed together, extending from stem to stern along the bottom of a vessel. It is the principal timber of the vessel, and, by means of the ribs attached on each side, supports the vessel's frame. In an iron vessel, a combination of plates supplies the place of the keel of a wooden ship. See Illust. of Keelson.

Keel was a heavy metal band in the 1980s. They were formed by former Steeler vocalist Ron Keel, after an unsuccessful audition for Black Sabbath. The original members were : Ron Keel, vocals; former ICON guitarist David Michael Phillips; Marc Ferrari lead & rhythm guitars; Bobby Marks drums; and Kenny Chaisson, bass guitar.
Keel is the fourth album by the heavy metal band Keel, released on 21 June, 1987.
