A desperation pass downfield usually employed at the end of a half or game. A team will send four or five receivers to one side of the field and have them run downfield into the same area of the end zone. The quarterback will then throw a high pass into the area in the hope that one of his receivers will come down with the football amidst the confusion in the end zone.
