Glass with a surface pattern made to resemble frost patterns or snow crystals; common on pressed glass vessels for serving cold confections.
Glass used for light bulbs that has been roughened or treated with a spray on coating (See IF), for the purpose of diffusing light. (See Diffusion).
Frosted glass is produced by the acid etching of clear sheet glass, or sand-blasting. It has the effect of rendering the glass translucent, obscuring the view while still passing light.
