Definitions for "Dry Spray"
Keywords:  overspray, spray, sandy, dried, powdery
See "Oversprays."
Condition caused by holding the spray gun too far away from the work. The compressed air tends to dry the paint too quickly giving rise to poor finish. Could also be caused by too high an air pressure.
Sprayed paint which loses so much solvent in the air that it becomes too dry to flow out over the surface. This normally occurs when the chosen reducer is too fast for the atmospheric conditions. Dry spray has a lower gloss than the normally sprayed surface.
