Consequential damage is loss or damage which is not a direct result of a breach of contract or negligence but occurs as a consequence (e.g. lost future sales). A seller will normally exclude responsibility for such damages in the supply contract or terms and conditions of sale.
A loss which is an indirect result of an accident or fire, e.g. food spoiled through breakdown of a refrigerator.
Damages incurred as the result of the effects of a party's breach of responsibility or contract and usually result in financial compensation.
