Syndrome characterized by the presence of at least one major depressive episode accompanied by at least one hypomanic episode.
Characterized by the occurrence of one or more Major Depressive Episodes accompanied by at least one Hypomanic Episode.
A mood disorder that is less severe and causes less impairment than bipolar I and is characterized by cyclic mood changes alternating between major depressive and hypomanic episodes. In contrast to mania, psychosis never occurs during a hypomanic episode, and the individual typically continues to work and participate in normal social activities.
