Where the track is tilted as it goes round a corner. It is done to change the lateral forces into vertical forces. Instead of the rider being pushed to the side as they go around the corner they are pushed into the bottom of the seat.
A coaster turn, where the track is tilted laterally. This allows the train to turn at high speeds without causing undue stress on the riders. Designed to eliminate / reduce lateral forces, or the sensation of being tossed to the side.
A banked turn is the term used to describe a car riding along a circle with inclined edges. The angle at which a turn is banked refers to the angle of incline of the given path. The benefit of such a structure is that there are forces other than that of friction to keep the car on its designated path.
