Definitions for "Backstrip"
The covering of a book's spine, usually of cloth or leather, and frequently lettered with the title of the book and other information, and decorated as well. The backstrip will often show signs of wear before the rest of the book, fading, fraying, becoming chipped or discolored.
The strip that covers the spine of the book; also called the backstrap, or backbone.
