Definitions for "Wardens"
The Wardens are elected by the Congregation at each Annual Meeting. Canonically, they provide the elements for the Lord's Supper, collect the alms at the administration of the same, keep and disburse such alms in case the Cathedral is destitute of a Dean, and while the Cathedral is destitute of a Dean, provide for the celebration of public worship. Vestry meetings are called, in the absence of the Dean, by the Senior Warden, and in the absence of both by the Junior Warden. Wardens are elected for one-year terms. At the completion of six one-year terms, a Warden must wait a year before running for Warden or Vestry. Click here to see who the Wardens are.
