Definitions for "Voided"
Having the inner part cut away, or left vacant, a narrow border being left at the sides, the tincture of the field being seen in the vacant space; -- said of a charge.

A voided charge is one that has it's center blotted out by a smaller version of the same charge, leaving just the outline. Voiding generally is only used on simple geometric charges, and is usually the same color as whatever's under the charge. It is possible for the voided part to be a third color, in which case that color must be named.
