Definitions for "Vents"
Vertical channels placed on the model to the exterior of the mold enabling gases and captured air to escape reducing air pockets within the cast.
Channels cut in a mold to carry hot gases away from mold cavities
These vent poisonous exhaust gases and through the roof or wall to the outside. If the proper water heater draft diverter isn't used, or the vent diameter is wrong, it can cause the water heater to soot up, or to backdraft, so that the fumes stay within the water heater closet instead of going out.
