The United Democratic Party is one of Belize's two major political parties and currently the main opposition political party in Belize. It currently holds eight of the 29 seats in the House of Representatives.

As a candidate at the presidential elections of 18 october 2001, he came second with 32.6% of the popular vote. The last legislative elections, 17 january 2002, were boycotted by the party.
