Refers to a softcover book that is larger than a standard size softcover and often made of quality paper and binding materials.
Oversized paperback, usually about the size of a hardcover but still a softcover. Sometimes it's the edition between the first hardcover printing and the mass market paperback (pocketbook-sized) edition. Some smaller publishers and certain types of books (like Graphic Novels) only come out in the trade format.
A paperback intended to be sold in bookstores. Trade paperbacks are printed on high-quality paper and are bound by a method similar to one used for hardback books. Trade paperbacks usually sell for more than $10. Compare to MASS-MARKET PAPERBACK.
