Definitions for "Total mastectomy"
a surgical procedure involving complete removal of the breast but not the axillary lymph nodes or chest muscles.
Surgical excision of the entire breast parenchyma including the axillary tail of the breast, together with an ellipse of overlying skin which encloses the nipple and areola.
Removal of the breast, skin and nipple. Lymph nodes are not removed. Same as a simple mastectomy.
