an incurable and irreversible condition that, without the administration of life sustaining treatment, will, in the opinion of the attending physician, result in death within a relatively short time
an incurable disease, illness, or injury that doctors expect will cause death within about six months even with life-sustaining treatment
an incurable or irreversible condition that will result in imminent death even without life-prolonging treatment
an incurable or irreversible injury for which there is no reasonable prospect of cure or recovery, death is imminent and lifesustaining treatment will only prolong the dying process
an irreversible illness that will result in death in the near future or a state of permanent unconsciousness from which recovery is unlikely
Any disease, illness, injury, or condition including but not limited to coma or persistent vegetative state, sustained by any patient, from which there is no reasonable medical expectation of recovery and which will result in the death of such patient, regardless of the use or discontinuance of medical treatment implemented for the purposes of sustaining life or the life processes.
