Definitions for "Teletherapy"
Therapy from a distance. Refers to radiation therapy given by a radiation machine, which is several feet from that part of the body being exposed to the x-ray beam. Usually given one dose per day for several weeks. (see brachytherapy).
Radiation therapy delivered from a distance by either Cobalt 60 apparatus or a linear accelerator.
Treatment in which the radiation source is at a distance from the body. Linear accelerators and cobalt machines are used in teletherapy.
