Sweet Sixteen was a 2002 film by director Ken Loach. The film itself tells the story of a working class Scottish teenage boy, Liam (played by Martin Compston), a typical 'ned', who dreams of starting afresh with his mother who is completing a prison term for a crime she did not commit.
