"Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" is a song recorded by Eurythmics from their album of the same name (Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)). After several commercial single flops, "Sweet Dreams" became a mainstream breakthrough for Eurythmics members David A. Stewart and Annie Lennox.
Sweet Dreams were a UK vocal group comprising of Carrie Gray, Helen Kray and Bobby McVey. They won the BBC Television's A Song for Europe contest in 1983, with the song "I'm Never Giving Up". It went on to represent the UK in the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest in Munich, where it was placed sixth.
"Sweet Dreams" or "Sweet Dreams (Of You)" is a famous country pop ballad written by Don Gibson. Gibson originally recorded the song in 1956; however, at that time, it failed to garner much notice. In 1960, after Gibson had established himself as a country music superstar, he released a new version as a single and met with great success.
