During initial use of a braided rug, excess sprouts of yarn may work their way to the surface of the rug. These sprouts should be clipped off at the base with scissors.
A condition in new carpet caused by long ends of pile protruding above the surface of the rug, which were unclipped during the factory shearing process. They should never be pulled out, but may be clipped off with scissors level with the pile surface.
