An acrobatic movement where the body makes a complete revolution, heels over head; also known as 'salto'.
An acrobatic movement in which the body is rolled over, feet over head, either forward or backward, on the ground or in midair, finally returning to an upright position
The full rotation of the body on an imaginary horizontal axis through the hips.
A somersault (sometimes somerset) is an acrobatic feat in which a person tucks in mid-air and moves the feet over the head. The somersault can be performed either forwards, backwards, or sideways and is synonymous with a flip (or, if performed backwards, backflip).
