Systemized Nomenclature for Medicine: Clinical Terms - Standard code set covering medical terms, procedures and diagnoses maintained by College of American Pathologists. The federal government, through the National Library of Medicine, has signed a contract with CAP for a perpetual license for the core terminology set called SNOMED CT, which stands for Systemized Nomenclature for Medicine: Clinical Terms. The agreement makes SNOMED CT available to IT users in the U.S. at no cost.
