an infrastructure technology that enables information technology applications to express, understand, share, and reuse environmental data. SEDRIS technologies provide the means to represent environmental data (terrain, ocean, air and space), and promote the unambiguous, loss-less and non-proprietary interchange of environmental data.
Synthetic Environment Data Representation and Interchange Specification. It is a standard administered by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Note: SEDRIS used to be an acronym for Synthetic Environment Data Representation and Interchange Specification but it is currently used as a noun.
