In the event of an accident or blockage on the race circuit the safety car will be sent out in front of the lead car to slow down and control the cars still on track until the debris can be cleared.
The car that drives out in front of Formula One cars during the formation lap. The safety car is also used in safety situations, for example after accidents, to bring the cars into formation and prevent further incidents. The safety car has been used in Formula One since 1992.
The car sent through the stage fifteen minutes before the rally begins to warn spectators of the arrival of the World Rally Cars.
