A framework for capturing important information about each risk – e.g., a brief description, the DEFRA objective it affects, its likelihood, impact and rating, and how we are controlling it at the moment.
a useful tool for outlining all the risks identified before and during the project, for keeping a record of their grading in terms of likelihood and seriousness and a record of the proposed mitigation strategies, costings and responsibilities
An auditable record of the project Risks, their Consequences and significance, and proposed mitigation and management measures.
formal record of identified risks (a body of information listing all the risks identified for the project, explaining the nature of each risk and recording information relevant to its assessment and management).
An assessment of the risks to be transferred or retained under the various procurement options. A Risk Register is used to identify, allocate and quantify the various risks associated with the procurement options. The costs of the risks under each procurement option need to be included in the financial models for that option. A copy of the Risk Register for the P3 reference project is typically included in the ITN as a means of indicating in summary form the proposed risk allocation included in the Draft Project Agreement.
A document that records the results of a risk analysis process. It includes the identified threats to the success of the project, the current assessment for each threat (both likelihood and seriousness), a risk grading and strategies for mitigating the risks.
A document used to record the risks facing a project or programme, usually produced as a table. It should, as a minimum, record a description of each risk, an assessment of its likelihood and impact and the management actions to be taken to minimise the risk, though it can be more sophisticated.
a list of risks identified in the risk review process, including full descriptive detail and cross-references.
A risk register is a tool commonly used in project planning and organisational risk assesments. It is often referred to as a Risk Log (for example in Prince2).
